When I signed up for a wine tasting today, I did NOT expect this… You know those days when you just want to get out, take a break from your everyday routine, and play tourist in your own backyard? Well, that’s exactly what I did today with @californiatastings ! A beautiful Saturday afternoon and a quick drive over the hill from Santa Rosa to Calistoga. As you enter downtown Calistoga, tucked off to the left, you’ll find @mariaconcettowinery But don’t blink or you might miss it! Now, I’ve been to plenty of tasting rooms before. And let’s face it, after a while, many of them start to feel pretty similar. But this place? It’s an EXPERIENCE. Yes, there’s great wine (and medals to back it up). And yes, there’s a ROBOT named “Robby” who can actually pours your wine! But that’s just the beginning. We’re talking robot pours, dancing, laughter, and even a ride down the main strip in a “vintage” car! I mean, what?! Maria has created something truly unique here. And what I appreciated most wasn’t just the wine or the technology. It was how she brought the human experience and technology together to create something memorable. The robot gets your attention. But the hospitality, personality, and experience of the local area are what make you want to stay, tell your friends, and come back. And there’s a lesson in that for any business owner. Sometimes standing out isn’t about offering something completely different. It’s about creating an experience people can’t help but talk about. Maria has done exactly that. If you’re in the Calistoga area, I highly recommend booking a tasting. Bring a friend, clear your afternoon, and don’t be in a rush. We weren’t and we got to meet a new friend @kellyaxelrad.
