Maria Concetto Winery sources from three distinctive wine regions – Napa, Sonoma, and Mendocino Counties.
Napa Valley is a small winemaking region—it is just 30 miles long and 5 miles wide. In contrast, Bordeaux in France is eight times larger than Napa Valley. Despite the small size of Napa Valley, it’s topographical diversity more than makes up for it in the wines it produces.
Sonoma County’s range of geography—valleys to mountains, coastal ranges to inland benchlands—is second to none. The size and distance between these distinctive AVAs ensure individualism of wines, viticultural approaches, and myriad philosophies of winemaking.
Mendocino County's cooler areas produce outstanding Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and sparkling wines. Alsatian white grape varieties – Riesling, Gewürztraminer, and Pinot Gris – have also found a home here, while the warmer parts of the region are suitable for growing more robust reds, including the likes of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, Syrah, and Zinfandel. Mendocino County is particularly known for its organic and biodynamic wines.
