2022 Sauvignon Blanc, Alexander Valley
Beginning life in an Alexander Valley vineyard in northeastern Sonoma County, this is crisp and refreshing, a dry medium-bodied white that lovingly balances acidity and the aromatic flavors Sauvignon Blanc is known for. A friend to all, it introduces itself via greenish apple (not full Granny Smith; more like Auntie Smith), white nectarine and lemongrass. Dill, fennel, green bell pepper and tomato leaf are also bandmates. On the palate, you can add lime, pomelo and honeydew melon to the sensorial party before a pleasant finish that lingers long enough for you to smile contentedly. Absent any residual sugar, this is a minerally friend to all manner of seafood, particularly shellfish and ceviche.
It’s also one of our top-sellers in the tasting room. The transition from “I’d like to try your Sauvignon Blanc” to “I’d like to take a bottle home” is a typically brief journey for guests. They just love it.
